Desk

This project is a miniature (24” by 48”) version of the dining table my daughter designed and we built together.  A friend of my wife saw the table and was eager to have a desk for her home that was identical.  The desk is made from reclaimed rock maple and has a light mahogany finish.  Though hard to see in this photo I particularly enjoyed making the metal feet on this project.

Table

This is a cherry table with dropdown sides.  This was made to extend our dining room table when the whole family is over for a meal and not take up much room when not in use.  While the legs were purchased the rest of the table, including the hinges for the legs, are hand made from my own design.

Coffee Table

This is a walnut table with simple hand-turned legs.  After my wife and I replaced some furniture in our front room I looked for a table that I felt would be functional as well as decorative and unique.  It did not take long before I realized the best option would be to build the table myself.  I appreciate the figure (contrast in grain color and shape) of wood and this project allowed me to celebrate the figure in the walnut I chose.
