Scott Lessard
Master Carpenter
Scott Lessard founded Lessard Custom Woodworking in 2020 after realizing the hobby he is passionate about is also a skill that his family and friends appreciated. Scott retired from Denver Public Schools after 31 years of teaching, district level leadership, and school based leadership. This extremely rewarding work was fulfilling but did not quench the desire for crafting items with his own hands he developed working in the trades for much of his youth. Throughout his adult life Scott has used woodworking to best express himself when he is not in an educational setting, creating dozens of pieces that he has shared with family, friends and the schools he has worked in. He was part of the team of educators who created the photo gallery that currently exists throughout Thomas Jefferson High School, as well as the student art displays that house works at George Washington High School. Through Scott’s life woodworking has maintained an important place and is what he does to create balance for himself. From selecting a design to the last sanding the act of making a one of a kind art piece with his own hands that brings joy to the recipient is also what gives Scott joy.
